Dean’s speech, Faculty of Languages

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Praise be to ALLAH, who taught by the pen, taught man what he did not know, and prayers and peace be upon the Prophet who taught the best nation brought forth for mankind, and upon his family and noble companions.

I am pleased to welcome you to AL-Madinah International University and talk about the programs of the Faculty of Languages. The Faculty has several academic programs, including:

PhD Programs:

PhD Program in Arabic Language
PhD Program in Arabic Literature and Literary Criticism

Master’s Programs:

MA Program in Arabic Language (Structure A, Structure B, and Structure C)
MA Program in Arabic Literature and Literary Criticism (Structure A, Structure B, and Structure C)

Bachelor Program:

Bachelor of Language (Hons) in Arabic Language and Literature.

PhD Programs structure and duration:

Structure A (the student studies one subject called Research Methods and then begins preparing the doctoral dissertation) and study duration: Six semesters = three years.

Master’s Program structure and duration:

Structure A (student studies one course called Research Methodology and then begin preparing their master’s thesis) and duration of study: four semesters = two years.

Structure B (coursework plus supplementary research) and duration of study: three semesters = one and a half year.

Structure C (coursework plus a graduation research project) and duration of study: four semesters = two years.

The Faculty of Languages is distinguished by its distinguished lecturers, who possess extensive experience in teaching and scientific research. The Faculty pledges to remain a beacon and destination for every student striving to achieve their ultimate goal of seeking and disseminating knowledge, and to remain true to the spirit of the mission for which it was founded.
